How to Switch Accounts to Another User
Switching accounts allows you to temporarily access the platform as another user. This is particularly useful for administrators who need to troubleshoot, review, or manage accounts on behalf of team members. There are two primary methods for switching accounts: via the Manage Team page or the top header menu. Below is a detailed guide to both approaches:
Method 1: Switch Accounts via Manage Team Page
1. Navigate to Manage Team
Go to the Manage Team section from the left-hand menu. This area displays a list of all team members along with their details and management options.
2. Select the User
Locate the user whose account you want to switch into. You can either:
o Click on the User's Avatar: This will automatically initiate the account switch.
o Use the Manage Option: Click the Manage icon next to the user, then select Switch Account from the dropdown menu.
3. Access the Account
Once you confirm the switch, you’ll be logged into the selected user’s account. This action grants you temporary access to the platform as that user, with permissions limited by their assigned roles.
Note: The Switch Account option is only available for users with specific permissions. For example, administrators and managers might have this feature enabled, but regular users may not.
Method 2: Switch Accounts via the Top Header Menu
1. Click on Your Avatar
At the top of the platform, locate and click your profile avatar in the header menu.
2. Choose "Switch Account"
From the dropdown menu, select the Switch Account option. This will display a list of users whose accounts you can switch into.
3. Select an Available Account
Browse the list and click on the desired user account. You can only which into accounts that are currently active
4. Confirm and Access
After selecting the account, confirm the action to log in as the chosen user.
Important Notes and Best Practices
• Permissions Matter: The ability to switch accounts is restricted to users with specific administrative or management permissions. Ensure you have the appropriate role to use this feature.
• Pending Accounts: You cannot switch into accounts that are still in the pending status. These accounts must first complete the activation process (e.g., setting up a password).
• Switch Responsibly: When accessing another user's account, exercise caution. Any changes or actions you make will be attributed to that user.
