Integrations: How to Add Facebook Pixel

Documentation: How to Add Facebook Pixel to Your Website via HitMe Panel

Step 1: Obtain Your Facebook Pixel ID

Before you can integrate Facebook Pixel with your website, you need to create a Facebook Pixel and obtain the Pixel ID.

1. Log in to Facebook Business Manager:

o Go to the Facebook Business Manager and log in with your Facebook account.

o If you don’t have a Business Manager account, create one by following the on-screen instructions.

2. Create a Facebook Pixel:

o In Facebook Business Manager, navigate to the Events Manager.

o Under Data Sources, select Pixels.

o Click Add to create a new Pixel.

o Enter a name for your Pixel (e.g., "My Website Pixel") and click Create.

o Once the Pixel is created, you will be provided with a Pixel ID and other installation options. Copy the Pixel ID; you will need it in the next steps.

Step 2: Insert the Facebook Pixel Code into the HitMe Panel

Once you have your Pixel ID, you can add the Facebook Pixel code to your website via the HitMe panel.

1. Log in to the HitMe Panel:

o Open the HitMe panel in your browser and log in with your administrator credentials.

2. Navigate to the Analytics / SEO Section:

o In the left sidebar, go to Website > Analytics / SEO.

o Under Analytics / SEO, select Integrations.

3. Insert the Facebook Pixel ID:

o In the Integrations section, look for the field labeled Facebook Pixel ID.

o Paste the Pixel ID that you copied from Facebook into this field.

4. Save the Changes:

o After pasting the Facebook Pixel ID, click Save to apply the changes.

Step 3: Verify Facebook Pixel Integration

Once the Facebook Pixel ID is added to your website, you need to verify that it’s working correctly.

1. Use the Facebook Pixel Helper:

o Install the Facebook Pixel Helper Chrome extension.

o Open your website in a new tab and click on the Pixel Helper icon in your browser’s toolbar.

o The extension will show if the Pixel is firing correctly. If the Pixel is installed properly, you should see your Pixel ID listed in the Pixel Helper.

2. Check Facebook Events Manager:

o Return to Events Manager in Facebook Business Manager.

o You should see activity from your website being tracked by the Pixel. If the Pixel is working, you’ll see data in the Pixel Overview and the Events section.

o It might take a few minutes for Facebook to process the data, so be patient if you don’t see activity immediately.

Step 4: Troubleshooting

If Facebook Pixel is not working or tracking data, here are some common issues and troubleshooting steps:

1. Verify Pixel ID:

o Double-check that you’ve copied the correct Pixel ID from Facebook and pasted it into the Facebook Pixel ID field in the HitMe panel. Ensure that there are no extra spaces or characters.

2. Clear Cache and Refresh:

o Clear your browser cache and refresh your website to make sure the changes are applied properly.

3. Facebook Pixel Helper:

o Use the Facebook Pixel Helper tool to see if the Pixel is firing correctly. If you don’t see your Pixel in the Pixel Helper, the code might not have been installed properly.

4. Facebook Events Manager:

o If there’s no activity in Facebook Events Manager, make sure you’ve selected the correct Pixel and that it’s properly linked to your website. It can take a few minutes for Facebook to begin processing data.

5. Ad Blockers:

o Some ad blockers may prevent Facebook Pixel from firing. Try disabling any ad blockers in your browser temporarily and check again.

Step 5: Monitor and Use Facebook Pixel Data

Once your Facebook Pixel is integrated and tracking activity on your website, you can begin to use the data to optimize your Facebook ads and website performance.

1. Track Conversions:

o Use the Pixel to track specific actions on your site, such as purchases, sign-ups, or form submissions. Set up Standard Events or Custom Conversions in Facebook Ads Manager to track these actions.

2. Create Custom Audiences:

o Use the data from your Pixel to create Custom Audiences based on user behavior. For example, you can create an audience of people who have visited a specific page on your website or completed a certain action.

3. Optimize Facebook Ads:

o With Pixel data, you can optimize your Facebook ad campaigns for conversions. Facebook will use the Pixel data to show your ads to users most likely to take the desired actions, such as making a purchase.

4. Retargeting:

o Facebook Pixel allows you to retarget visitors who have interacted with your website but didn’t convert. Use the Custom Audience feature to create retargeting campaigns and increase your conversion rates.

By following these steps, you can successfully integrate Facebook Pixel into your website via the HitMe panel and begin tracking user behavior to optimize your Facebook advertising campaigns. Facebook Pixel provides valuable data to help you retarget visitors, measure conversions, and create more effective ads to grow your business.
