Adding and Customizing Contact Forms on Your Website in HitMe Website Builder

This article will guide you through the process of adding a contact form to any page of your website using the HitMe Website Builder. You can easily customize the form to meet your specific needs, including setting the recipient email address, the email delivery method, and modifying the form fields to suit your preferences.

Personalized Email Configuration

HitMe Website Builder offers every account a personalized SMTP mail account to handle email sending. You can adjust the main email and SMTP settings by going to Website > Email Settings in your control panel.

Adding a Contact Form to a Page

To insert a contact form onto a webpage, follow these steps:

Switch to Section Builder Mode.

Navigate to the “Contact” category.

Select and add one of the pre-designed sections that includes a contact form.

Once added, a basic contact form will appear on the page. To configure its settings, switch to Styles Editing Mode, then click on the form to access the configuration options.

Email Delivery Settings

In this mode, you can choose your preferred email provider to process the form submissions. By default, HitMe uses Simple Mail PHP, which sends emails through the local SMTP server or any other SMTP provider you've configured in Email Settings.

Additional email customization options include:

Subject Line: Add a subject line to help organize and identify incoming emails.

Alternative Sender Address: Use a different email address for sending the form submissions.

Post-Submission Actions

Once a form is successfully submitted, you can define what happens next. The default setting is “None,” but you can opt for one of the following actions:

Redirect to a specific URL.

Display a popup modal immediately after submission.

Form Constructor: Advanced Customization

With the Form Constructor, you can:

Modify or add new fields to the contact form.

Mark certain fields as required or optional.

Include specialized fields like:

Date Picker: Allow users to select a date from a calendar.

File Attachment: Enable users to attach files with their form submission.

This flexibility ensures your contact form fits your exact needs.

Visual Customization of Forms

In Style Editing Mode, you can refine the look of your contact form to align with your website’s design. You can:

Switch between vertical or horizontal layouts.

Customize fonts, colors, and spacing for a polished, cohesive appearance.

By utilizing these tools, you can create a contact form that is not only functional but also visually appealing and well-integrated with your website’s overall style.
